The Faculty of Technology, which has a different structure in comparison to other faculties with its innovations in the field of education, was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette dated 13.11.2009 and numbered 27405.
Faculty of Technology, which was within the unit of Sakarya University until May 2018, was affiliated to Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, which was established under the law numbered 7141 of 18 May 2018.
Our faculty, which started accepting students in the academic year of 2010-2011, continues its education with 5 Engineering Programs: Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Metallurgical-Materials Engineering.
Our faculty accepts students from two different quotas: General High School and Vocational and Technical Secondary Education (MTOK). Our students who are entitled to enrol in the scope of MTOK have a one-year scientific preparatory education covering basic science and mathematics courses (click for the scientific preparation directive.). Our students who have successfully completed the scientific preparatory education can start the 1st year.
The Faculty of Technology differs from other faculties with its educational structure. In our faculty, a university-industry cooperation-oriented education (7 + 1 Education Model) is implemented. In order to train our students as “Engineers with Applied Skills”, with the 7 + 1 Education Model the theoretical and practical lessons taken at school can be directly combined with field experience and the opportunity to transform this knowledge of our students into the skill of implementation. For this purpose, our syllabi are organised as:
7 semesters theoretical and practical lessons at school, and
1 semester practice in enterprises.
In addition, the education and training process, supported by a 72-day compulsory summer internship, significantly helps to increase our students' work experience.
